I really enjoy taking simple portrait shots, and I wanted to try a new lighting technique with this Beast portrait. I saw a video recently from Black Symbiote (https://www.instagram.com/black_symbiote/) showing how to do light painting in a shot, and I decided to give it a try.
I am definitely happy with the results in this shot! Using the light painting technique, I was able to get consistent and equal lighting across the entire figure, and this eliminated any hot spots. I used an Energizer puck light on the dimmest setting, and shined the light on Beast for about 3 seconds first and then 3 seconds on the background.
Camera settings for this shot:
ISO - 100
fStop - 13
Shutter Speed - 10 seconds
Picture Control - Vivid
White Balance - Warm-white Fluorescent
