Beast is my all time favorite comic book character, and I will gladly purchase as many different variations of this new Beast sculpt that Hasbro has put out recently. As you would expect, I was beyond thrilled that Dark Beast was announced as being part of the Age of Apocalypse wave that just dropped. I loved the Age of Apocalypse comics and figures from the 90's when I was a kid, and I'm glad we are getting these as Marvel Legends releases now.
For this shot, I wanted to do a lab experiment type setup to reflect the mad scientist that Dark Beast is. I used my Temple diorama with some different mechanical props in the back ground to set the scene. All of the lab equipment on the table came from an old Palisades Muppets Dr. Phil Van Neuter figure. One a side note, all of those old Palisades Muppets figures came with great accessories, and I still pick some of them up every now and then to add more props to the collection. I always get asked where the lab equipment came from when I use it in shots, so come on Hasbro, give us some lab stuff with a future figure haha.
The final prop I added to this shot was a Mezco skull that came from the skull head pack that they released a few weeks ago. I tried a few different colors, but blue and black worked the best. Blue ended up being the best overall since you can still see the details of the skull better than the black version, but all of the other colors just didn't look right.
