I've said it before, but Mezco One:12 figures photograph so well! Logan is not exception, even with the weird "mom jeans." I recently picked up a few of the new LumeCube Panel Minis, and I wanted to try out a simple portrait shot with them since the lowest brightness setting creates a nice soft light. I am definitely happy with the results.
The panel minis have a wide variety of temperature settings from warm to cool, and I went with the coolest setting for the final shot. I also changed up the white balance settings on my camera to achieve a natural looking skin tone on Logan. You can see in the behind the scenes shot below that his skin was a little orange in tone when the white balance was set to a warmer setting.
Natural posing is something I am always trying to work on, and I really wanted to nail a relaxed pose for this shot. I was having some trouble with the placement of Logan's right arm, and I made several adjustments to try to get things to look right. I was finally able to get his wrist and hand to look natural leaning on the table behind him, but that caused his elbow to hover a bit over the top of the table. I couldn't get the elbow to lie flat without causing his wrist and hand to look weird, so I just covered his elbow with the beer bottle in his hand. Also, these beer bottles and liquor bottles are some of my favorite accessories. They came with the NECA Preacher figures, and they definitely work well in a variety of settings.
Camera settings for this shot:
