I definitely like the overall design of the Wicked Cool Toys Pokemon figures, but man, every time I go to take pictures of these, I always find myself wanting more articulation. This new Marowak figure is a perfect example of that. While both of his arms do have some "articulation", it doesn't really add anything to the figure because the arms just look out of place if you move them around.
I much rather would have had leg and/or tail articulation on this figure. It was kind of a pain to just get him to stand up straight on the moss mat I used for the base of this photo. He kept falling forward since it wasn't a completely flat surface, so I had to stick his tail through the moss to try to get it to hold him upright.
So the problems with the articulation (lack of really) aside, I do really enjoy taking photos with these figures. The colors are always vibrant, and the end result usually looks nice. Other than the moss mat I mentioned earlier, I finished this setup with some artificial grass in the background, a light up moon, and I used my starry night posted board to give this a night time look to the shot. I used my two TaoTronics desk lamps to illuminate the backdrop and background, and went with my LumeCube Panel Minis to light Marowak. If it's not obvious enough already, I really love these Panel Minis from LumeCube. They have become my go to lights to light the figures I am working with in my shots.
